Saunders has played an important role in the history of Spokane. Saunders Cheese Market takes it's name from the very well known Saunders Meat Market and is located in the same location where Saunders Meat Market operated from 1930-1970. Joel and Karl Saunders, brothers, were business partners during this period. In 1970 the buildings were purchased by William and Yvonne Morin and provided retail space for a computer store and a quilting business. The space sat vacant for years until Kim and Bill Morin saw the need for a high quality, specialty cheese market in Spokane. In order to fulfill this need Kim and Bill opened Spokane’s only Artisan Cheese Market in late 2006. Opening the store with 60 specialty cheese they quickly expanded their offerings to well over 120 cheeses within 6 short months. The store also carries a variety of quality crackers, bread from Bouzies Bakery, Balsamic Vinegars, Olive Oils, Olives, Honey, Salami and Nuts. In order to experience these wonderful cheeses of the world, Kim and Bill would like to invite you stop by Saunders Cheese Market on your next visit to Spokane.
